MOSES KOTANE HOSPITAL OPENS

The 200-bed 19 500sqm hospital in Ledig near Sun City, opened its doors to the public this past May. The various departments of the hospital comprise of outpatients, casualty, medical ward, surgical ward, psychiatry, theatres, high care, short stay, neonatal ICU and pathology.

The main aim of the hospital's design was to merge the divide between public and private healthcare facilities and break from the old institution-type concept of monotonous corridors and wards. Natural lighting, colour and courtyards create a pleasant and fresh environment for the patients and staff alike.

Accommodation for the nursing staff was built on site on the outskirts of the race-track type layout, keeping travel distances to a minimum.
